For me, a book is a living thing. When I see a book I feel the characters, as if the life inside wants to come out through me.
It is important to choose the books you want to read. If you are just a beginner, try reading light-hearted and motivational books that will help you to like the process of reading and uplifting your being.
I am a single mother and a widow. At some point in time, I need suggestions and advice from somebody. Sometimes when it feels hard to make decisions on important matters, my habit of reading books has always been of help.
You become the books that you read, so choose the best book to read. Trust it, apply the message given in the book and you will see your life unfolding beautifully.
I read two books every day, one in the morning and one in the evening. I read a motivational book in the morning to keep me motivated through the day and to be in high spirits to take the day’s event positively.
I am currently reading The New Human Revolution Vol 23 by Daisaku Ikeda in the morning.
In the evening I read biographies and fictional books. I am currently reading Hippie by Paulo Coelho.
Here in this post, I would like to share the books which changed my life and helped me to keep going in life despite many difficulties.

My journey of reading started with this book, after this, I read many books written by Robin Sharma which have motivated and changed my life.

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne is one of the highest-selling books. This book teaches about the power of our thoughts and how changing our thoughts can change our lives.
The power is always in our hands to either be happy or sad.
Since I read this book I am applying the secret law of the universe. I have received blessings from the universe in many forms. I suggest you read and apply its teachings in your daily life. This is really a book that will change your life.
If you have already read it, then keep applying the teachings it has offered. Last year I reread The Secret and it freshened up and recharged my secret power.
This is not a one-time read book, but is a guidebook for your life that must be read time and again to keep you aligned with the universe and to make you more powerful.

3. The Alchemist
Yet another bestselling book of all time The Alchemist inspires us to follow our hearts.
This is considered to be a beginner’s book, but to be honest, when I read it for the first time I did not get the message.
I found it hard to understand. But now this book is one of my favorite motivational books. I read it again and clearly understood his message to be close to our hearts, to understand it, and to follow our dreams.
If it happens to you too, please give it another try. The same thing happened with my daughter too. Some books need more understanding and the right time.
After understanding the power of my heart through The Alchemist I read many of his books- The Pilgrimage, The Archer, and Like the Flowing River.
My current evening read is Hippie by him too.
4. Old Path New Clouds
This beautiful book is by the Vietnamese Monk Thich Nhat Hanh. He has wonderfully presented the life of Gautam Buddha through a buffalo boy, Swasti in the simplest form who later becomes the Buddha’s disciple.
This journey with Swasti will bring you closer to yourself. With each page of this book Old Path, White Clouds, you will become calm, and aware and you will find yourself most of the time in your present moment.
5. Many Lives Many Masters:
Many Lives Many Masters by a Psychiatrist and hypnotherapist is based on a true story. It is a story that took place during his practice as a hypnotherapist with his patient which changed both their lives.
This book will help you to deal with everything, everyone, all the circumstances in your life right now.
This book will bring meaning into your life and the understanding that life is eternal. We are only born here to be more and more ‘Godlike’.
6. The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind
The most interesting book to motivate you is The power of your subconscious mind. This book explains the power of our subconscious mind with examples based on interesting true experiences.
The book is simple and easy to understand. It tells us the power we have through our subconscious mind which can change our destiny.
Whenever I feel down and low I read this book. I read it many times. After every read, I realize the power inside me to change any situation, whether it is of health, wealth, relationship, or work.
7. I am Malala
It is a book about a brave girl who fought against the Taliban in Afghanistan. I feel it was her destiny to arouse hope and courage among the girls of Afghanistan and so she was brought back to life after being shot by the Taliban from so close.
Her life inspired so many people. Her story inspired me too. It will inspire you.
8. Long Walk To Freedom
You must probably know Nelson Mandela. The long walk to freedom is the life’s journey of Nelson Mandela. His perseverance, courage, intelligence, and positive thoughts, all together combine him as a great leader of this century.
His life inspired me a lot. From being nothing to a great personality known worldwide, it was his good thoughts that transformed everything.
9. Think and Grow Rich
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is the most important personal self-help book you must read. This book is the result of 25 years of research about the world’s richest people’s lives and habits.
The book will help you to attract not only financial freedom in your life, but all the forms of abundance if you apply the principles mentioned in the book. It has helped me accumulate all the forms of abundance in my life.
10. The Richest Man in Babylon
The Richest Man in Babylon has helped me to handle my finances more wisely. Until I came to this book I never thought of keeping money for myself. To keep the money first for you is the secret of attracting money in our life.
I have started keeping 10% of my income, and I could open my website solely with that money. Don’t think keeping 10% aside is a burden. It is a blessing.
Final thoughts
Every great person in this world has a reading habit and through reading, they change their life. They were influenced by another great human being by reading about them.
