People are not positive or negative, it is their habits that are positive or negative. If you find some people are negative, you will always find that it is the habits that they engage in that are making them negative.
In the same way, positive people are positive because they indulge in positive habits on a day-to-day basis.
So if you want to be a more positive person in life, focus on creating and building positive habits and you are sure to think and be more positive in life.
Most of our habits are formed unknowingly.
We do not know when we picked up a bad habit such as the habit of biting nails, complaining, gossiping, eating junk, throwing garbage here and there, sleeping late, waking up late, and the list is endless.
But with a little awareness and intention, it is possible to create positive habits intentionally.
When you start intentionally building positive habits, your life will change.

Positive habits help you create a meaningful and successful life. Positive habits not only help you but also your surroundings.
What I believe is all the positivity is already within us, but it is hidden underneath our negative habits.
We just require a little effort to bring it out and as we peel off everything we are not, then who we truly are starts to shine and we will become the positive person we already are, the positive being we are born as.

1. Wake up early
In the process of leading a positive life, the first and the most important habit you need to cultivate is waking up early.
Morning is the best time to reflect on your life. Wake up at your convenience, but a little earlier than before. Give priority to your morning and you will see the result.
Set an alarm and keep it far from your reach so that you have to get up to get it and do not go back to sleep after snoozing.
This happens with everyone at the early stage of self-development, so don’t be discouraged and keep trying.

2. Drink Warm Water
As soon as you get up, drink warm water to hydrate yourself. Keep it ready in the flask so you don’t have to spend extra time boiling it.
This habit of drinking warm water is beneficial to your health.
You must give your health a priority if you want to live a positive life.
3. Offer Prayers
My day starts with offering prayers and chanting Mantras. I feel rejuvenated and protected after offering my prayers.
Prayers uplift your energy. You will feel calm and peace. It will also give direction for the day. You will gain confidence and wisdom too.
Express your fears and worries to whomever you worship. This will give you the courage and wisdom to do the right thing in life.
4. Journaling
If you have not started, journaling yet, start this habit of writing in your journal. Journaling is the best way to express your heart desires, your happiness, and your frustrations.
Sometimes it’s hard to express our feelings to others, and keeping things inside causes stress, which will eventually damage our well-being.
Pour your thoughts into it, and express everything.

5. Make a list of goals
It is very important to have clear goals for our life. Make a list of your goals. Make a habit of writing your goals. Writing your goals will make your determination strong.
It is like placing your orders to the Universe. I always write my goals and targets at the beginning of the month. It gives me direction to work for its result.
You can make a habit of writing daily goals, monthly goals and yearly goals.
6. Read good books
Make reading a habit. If you are not a reading person make a habit of at least reading a page and gradually increase.
I am sure once you start you will not give up this habit of reading. Start with motivational books and autobiographies.
We feed ourselves with food, so it’s necessary to feed our minds and hearts too. Feed your heart and mind with good books.
I read motivational books in the morning and read autobiographies in the evening.
Books are my best friend.
It always gives me the best advice, courage and wisdom and truly helps me lead a good, fulfilled and positive life.

7. Be Mindful
The best positive habit is to be mindful.
If we practice mindfulness in our lives, then there will be hardly any mistakes we will make.
Be mindful of your thoughts, and your actions. You can be mindful by just checking your breath.
With just one breath you can come back to your body, and check if everything you are doing is good for you and for others. This is the best habit to live a positive life.
8. Offer Gratitude
Make gratitude a way of life. Gratitude is the key to a happy and positive life. If you are grateful, then life will give you more opportunities to be grateful for.
You can offer gratitude while praying. You can write gratitude in your journal. You can offer gratitude for every help you receive, and suggestions you receive during your day.
Do not miss even the most minute things to offer gratitude.
9. Count your blessings
Most of the time we get busy complaining about every little thing. Stop that habit and instead count your blessings.
Just look into your life and the surroundings and how you are living your life.
Count every blessing you are receiving from your loved ones, job, vehicles you are travelling, the phone you are using, the house you are living in.
The list is endless if you only make a habit of recognizing your blessings.
10. Write and Read Affirmations
Make a habit of writing and reading affirmations. Reading affirmation every day will help you realize your goals and help you receive your goals at the earliest.
I read my affirmation every day before writing my journal. I have started writing my monthly affirmation from this year. And my daughter writes her affirmations every day.
An affirmation is a promise to ourselves to live a positive life. It’s a habit of reminding our daily purpose in life.

11. Keep your home clean and tidy
If you want to change life and to add good habits, then keeping your house clean and tidy is the best habit you should apply.
Declutter now and then get rid of unwanted things from the house. The more messy your home more messy your mind will become.
When you keep your home clean, all other parts of your life will be clean and admirable.
12. Healthy conversations with family
Make a habit of speaking softly with your family members. Have a healthy conversation with your kids.
Solve any arguments at the earliest with your family members if arise. Share everything. Speak with love and respect. Value everyone’s opinions.

13. Eat together
How busy you are make a habit of eating together one meal with your family. This habit will bring everyone in the family closer.
We are social beings.

Money is not everything but money gives us everything we desire. And we always desire to have a fulfilled life.
Spending money will not secure our financial life but saving them. Make a habit of spending your money wisely, not buying things which are not important.

The most common problem these days is with our relationship with our gadgets.
Mobile phones are draining our energy. We are so engrossed in our phones that we forget about our surroundings, our family, and our time with ourselves.
The little time we might get for ourselves is all spent on the phone, but using the phone is not self-care.
Make a habit not to use your phone first thing in the morning. Give your morning a peaceful environment. This way you will reduce the screen time too.
16. See loved ones
Make a habit of visiting your loved ones. Share your joy. Make them feel wanted. Give them love and hug them with all your being.
Giving your time to someone is the greatest positive habit you have.
How fortunate to receive blessings from your elders and love from your young ones.
17. Spend time outside
Going for a walk is the best thing to spend time outside. Walking adds beneficial value to our health. Walking is a beneficial habit to keep ourselves healthy, fit and fine.
Spending time with nature is always nourishing. Nature is always been the best teacher. We can learn so many good habits from it.

People who have habits of only talking about the negative things about their life and surroundings are always sad and miserable.
Cultivate the habit of talking about abundance all the time. Never talk about the lack of anything.
Look into your life and all the blessings you are enjoying right now. Talk about that happily and joyfully with your friends and family.
When we were in the phase of financial hardships 5 years back, I and my daughter never shared our crisis with anybody.
We were determined to change our destiny by talking only about the abundance we were still enjoying, about our abundance of love among us mom and daughter, about the countless abundances in the universe.
The universe has all the abundance: an abundance of trees, flowers, plants, animals, insects, stars, wealth and so many things. We are part of the universe. Everything the universe has is ours too.
By creating a habit of talking about abundance you will attract abundance in your life.
19. Cook with awareness
If you are cooking anything for you or your family, from today add the habit of checking yourself before cooking anything.
Whatever you cook for your family or yourself you will consume with the energy you were while cooking. So cook happily and joyfully.
Add love and blessings to cooking, and food will be delicious plus blissful.
20. Send prayers
We pray for ourselves and our families and start a fresh habit of praying for the world. After you pray for yourself and your loved ones send your prayers to the world.
The world is going through tough times, with natural calamities and wars. Your prayer will make a difference.
21. Sleep early
Last but not least, make a habit of going to bed early. Sleeping early helps you to get up early in the morning without any trouble. Your morning will be fresh and refreshing.

I started working on my habit pattern very late when I was in my 40s, but I am happy I tried and I changed my life even though late.
